Kaii Higashiyama Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Kaii was a well known painter who also made some prints (i.e., woodblock and lithograph). This gallery shows twelve of his prints which included flowers or birds. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kaii used a traditional true-to-life drawing style for some of his pictures (e.g., 1-6) and a more modern, creative style for other pictures (e.g., 7-12).
